A school is only as good as its students. That’s why ESE is committed to assembling a student body that reflects the very best the world has to offer. Our admission policies aim to attract students with the right combination of scholastic achievement, academic potential, creativity, and career ambition. Of course, every applicant is different and so are our academic programs. We take everything into consideration in deciding whether one of our programs will be right for you. And if you will be right for one of our programs. Rest assured that ESE does not exclude anyone from admission as a result of discrimination on the grounds of gender, age, marital status, sexual orientation, nationality, race, religion, or disability.
Applicants who are not native English speakers should submit as part of their application the results of an English proficiency test. TOEFL and IELTS are the most widely recognized English-language tests in the world.
TOEFL can be accepted in Internet-based format, paper-based format, or computer-based format. Please note that we can accept IELTS only in the academic version.
Both tests are valid for up to two years. The ESE admission office has a minimum requested score for both tests. The minimum scores for the tests are as follows:
Undergraduate applicants:
TOEFL iBT: 80 or above
TOEFL CBT: 213 or above
TOEFL PBT: 550 or above
IELTS: 6.5 or above
Graduate applicants:
TOEFL iBT: 90 or above
TOEFL CBT: 233 or above
TOEFL PBT: 577 or above
IELTS: 7.0 or above
All students can be accepted conditionally in case they do not submit their English proficiency test along with their application package. As with all the other missing documents, enrolled students have 60 days after the start date of their program to submit the original copy of the English Proficiency Test. We request that admission counselors provide applicants with the following TOEFL registration codes. Students can use one of these codes during the TOEFL test. The related ESE Center will then automatically receive an original copy of the student’s test directly from the Language Center.

ESE New York: 5978

(At the moment we still do not have a code for Madrid and a general code for the IELTS.)
GMAT score for MBA applicants
A GMAT scores for an MBA applicant is strongly suggested but not mandatory. Responsibility always rests with the admission office director to evaluate the student’s previous academic achievement.
