For business success in the global landscape, leadership and entrepreneurship must be at the core of the business enterprise. Innovation and creativity are central to this program. Students will learn to explore their own ideas, formulate a vision, align teams, and implement plans successfully while they gain new insights and inspirations that will help transform and lead themselves, their enterprises, and their industries. They will learn to build flexible structures and cultures that help to foster innovation and creativity.
Students can personalize their degree through specialization in organizational leadership or entrepreneurship. The Organizational Leadership specialization encompasses principles of leadership that are relevant in a variety of settings. The knowledge and skills required for successful organizational leadership are developed in a global context. Whether students are planning to work in the private or public sectors, these principles will help you understand how organizations can function more effectively. The program will provide a framework for understanding how organizations work and how they can be developed and changed. Through the Entrepreneurship specialization students will be provided with the knowledge, skills and tools to enhance their development as innovators. Entrepreneurial innovation requires a strong foundation in opportunity identification and evaluation, market research, team development, financing, valuation, due diligence, and other areas essential to business development.

Aims of the Program

The Bachelor of Science degree in Global Business is designed to enable students to acquire a state of the art knowledge and understanding of global business with specialization in organizational leadership or entrepreneurship. The main aim of this program is to offer a challenging scheme of study that focuses on the dynamics of global business that promotes analytical, creative and imaginative engagement with theory, research, and practice.

The modules the Bachelor of Science in Global Business consists of introduce and then advance students understanding of the global aspects of business and to the comparative context perspective of modern business. The program integrates entrepreneurship and leadership theory and practice while focusing on the discovery and development of entrepreneurial and organizational leadership capabilities including recognizing viable business opportunities and developing business concepts that allow individuals or firms to take advantage of new venture creation. Emphasizing an integrated approach to learning, the program encourages the student to seek creative and satisfying expression of his or her talents and abilities. There is an emphasis on ESE’s unique philosophical approach, acquisition and allocation of resources, as well as organizing, leading and empowering people.

The program will prepare students to start a business, be a productive member of an entrepreneurial business, assume responsibilities in a family business, or become an effective leader in a growing business. Students must plan or research a major global issue and provide a possible workable solution or approach to that issue in the form of a dissertation.

Graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Global Business program would have a sound basis for careers in a wide range of areas from major corporations to small businesses, from nonprofit organizations to large multinational firms. Successful completion of the BSc, with Honours, in Global Business may allow a student to progress to postgraduate study.
