City Life??
For a city that is the very embodiment of business and finance, Milan sure has a funny way of showing it. What we mean, of course, is that Milan is also the most fashionable city in the world, where glamorous designers display their latest clothing lines to the discerning masses. Milan is also the perfect mix of popular culture (think of Milan Inter and AC Milan soccer clubs as well as the Gran Prix at Monza) with high culture (some of Leonardo’s greatest works are here, as well as La Scala, the world’s greatest opera house). Still, for all of its variety, Milan is a monolith when it comes to business. This city claims the most headquarters of Italy’s leading companies. Big corporations from other countries also come to Milan when it comes to trade shows and business fairs. In 2015, Milan hosts the World Expo, and ESE students will be at the center of all the activity. There are more restaurants of every kind in this northern Italian city than there are anywhere else in Italy, except for Rome itself. Outside the metropolis that is greater Milan, the countryside is dotted with quaint villages, especially around Lake Como.
